Closes investigation in the market for construction services

The Norwegian Competition Authority has today closed an investigation against operators in the market for construction services.

– The Competition Authority has reviewed the information collected in the course of the investigation, and has not found grounds to proceed with the case. We are therefore closing the investigation, says Director for the Department of Industry and Energy, Hanne Dahl Amundsen.

The basis of the investigation was information about possible bidding collusion, an infringement of Section 10 of the Competition Act, which prohibits anticompetitive agreements and concerted practice. The Competition Authority collected evidence from operators in the market for construction services by way of inspections in February and November 2022, and has taken statements from persons central to the case.

– The market for construction services is a large and important market, and the Competition Authority gives serious consideration to cases about possible illegal practices in this market. We received information from an attentive purchaser, and decided on that basis to investigate the case. We have conducted a thorough investigation, but not found grounds to proceed with the case, says Hanne Dahl Amundsen.
