The Norwegian Competition Authority extends period of disclosure requirements for specific market players in several markets.
The disclosure requirements entail that the companies concerned must inform the Authority about mergers and acquisitions they are involved in, also when the regular notification thresholds are not met.
The disclosure requirements are applicable for a period of two years. All the companies in question were subject to similar obligations in the previous two-year period, which ended on 31. December 2025. The renewed duty to provide information therefore entails a continuation for the same companies.
- The disclosure requirements have been extended for another two-year period for these companies:
- Ready-Mix concrete: Nordic Concrete Group AS, Heidelberg Materials Norway AS og Unicon AS
- Residential security systems: Verisure AS og Sector Alarm Group AS
- Electric car charging: Mer Norway AS, Circle K Norge AS, Eviny Elektrifisering AS, Recharge AS, Tesla Norway AS.
- Sports equipment: Sport Holding AS
- Accounting systems: Visma AS
- Certain online marketplaces: Vend Marketplaces AS
The purpose of the disclosure requirement to ensure that the Norwegian Competition Authority obtains the necessary insight into acquisitions that may affect competition in the markets. When larger companies acquire smaller competitors, this can in some cases weaken competition and lead to higher prices or fewer choices for consumers. The disclosure requirement is therefore an important tool for promoting well functioning markets, says Director General Mads Magnussen.
The Norwegian Competition Authority regularly considers whether it is necessary to impose disclosure requirements on other market players.
