The Norwegian Competition Authority has today approved the purchaser of the Locobase brand. The divestment of this brand was a remedy for Karo Healthcare’s acquisition of Aco Hud Nordic.
Karo Healthcare proposed the divestment of the brand in the Nordic countries as a remedy in order to obtain clearance for the Karo Healthcare’s aquisition of Aco Hud Nordic. Karo Healthcare has now entered into an agreement with a third party for the acquisition of the Locobase brand in the Nordic countries.
– The purchaser of the brand meets the requirements for being an independent and suitable purchaser. It is positive that a new player is now entering the market and demonstrating an intention to compete in the market for medicated skincare products, says Marita Mæland Skjæveland, Director of Department for Construction, Industry and Energy at the Norwegian Competition Authority.
The Norwegian Competition Authority’s investigation is now concluded, and the prohibition on implementing the acquisition is lifted.
