Mads Magnussen appointed Director General of Norwegian Competition Agency

Mads Magnussen has assumed the position of Director General at the Norwegian Competition Authority. He will be lead the Authority’s work to promote effective competition in the markets for the benefit of consumers and businesses.

– I am delighted to take on one of the most interesting roles in the field. The Norwegian Competition Authority has an important mandate, and I look forward to working with our talented colleagues to ensure that competition functions as effectively as possible, says Magnussen.

Magnussen holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He has extensive experience in EU/EEA and competition law, including positions at the EFTA Court, as Legal Director at the Norwegian Competition Authority, and as Partner and Head of Department at Wikborg Rein law firm. He also brings long-standing experience as a judge.

Mads Magnussen has been appointed for a fixed term of six years.
