The Norwegian Competition Authority investigates veterinary clinics

In February, the Norwegian Competition Authority conducted unannounced inspections at the premises of several veterinary clinics.

– The Norwegian Competition Authority is investigating whether there has been illegal cooperation in violation of the Competition Act between veterinary clinics and has therefore conducted unannounced inspections to confirm or refute this suspicion, says Magnus Friis Reitan, Deputy Director of the Department for Food, Retail and Health at the Norwegian Competition Authority.

The inspections were conducted with prior authorization from the District Court. The Norwegian Competition Authority has seized relevant materials, which will now be reviewed.

The Norwegian Competition Authority cannot provide further information about the case at this stage. General inquiries can be directed to the Authority’s press contact.
