Hans-Petter Håvås Hanson will be taking on the position as Chief Economist at the Norwegian Competition Authority, starting July 1st.
Hans-Petter Håvås Hanson holds an MSc in applied economics from University of Bergen and a Post Graduate Diploma in EU Competition Law. He started working at the Competition Authority in 2008 and is today employed as a special advisor in the Director General’s staff. From 2017 to 2021 Hanson worked at The European Commission, DG COMP and the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) in Brussels, during which time he was on leave from his position at the Competition Authority.
During his time at the Competition Authority and in Brussels, Hanson has built up a solid competence and knowledge in both competition economy and competition law and has worked with a wide spectrum of issues in competition economy, both nationally and internationally.
