The Norwegian Competition Authority carried out unannounced inspections at the premises of companies in the market for sea freight in October 2020. The Authority has now decided to close its investigation.
– The Authority has carefully examined the evidence that was seized during the inspections, and has found that there are insufficient grounds to proceed with the case. We have therefore decided to close the investigation, says Director of Investigations, Kari Bjørkhaug.

The purpose of the unannounced inspections was to investigate a possible infringement of Section 10 of the Competition Act against anticompetitive agreements and concerted practices. Evidence was seized in order to examine whether or not any breaches of the Competition Act had been committed.
– We now close this case, as we have not made any findings that would give us reasons to continue the investigation, says Bjørkhaug.
