The Norwegian Competition Authority has imposed disclosure requirements on Norva24 Holding AS and other companies within the same group. From May 16, 2025, Norva24 must inform the Authority about all mergers, acquisitions, and minority investments in markets such as emptying and flushing services, pipe renewal, and related services in Norway.
The disclosure requirements applies from May 16, 2025, to December 31, 2026. It includes acquisitions below the threshold values for notification under the Competition Act, meaning acquisitions of companies with a turnover of less than NOK 100 million. The disclosure requirements also includes minority investments that are not subject to notification.
The purpose of the disclosure requirement is for the Norwegian Competition Authority to receive information about mergers, acquisitions, and minority investments that are not subject to notification to assess whether it is relevant to impose a notification duty. The goal is to prevent poor competition as a result of small players being aqcuired by larger ones, which can lead to higher prices and lower quality for customers. The Authority’s assessment of the need for disclosure requirements for actors in various markets is ongoing, and it may become relevant to impose disclosure requirements on more actors.
