The Norwegian Competition Authority confirms that it has conducted a dawn raid at the premises of several operators in the grocery business in Norway.
The Norwegian Competition Authority release this information as companies involved have confirmed the control officially.
The inspection concerns the market of selling groceries from stores in Norway. The authority is investigating a possible breach of the § 10 of the Competition Act.
– The aim of the investigation is to establish whether or not anticompetitive behaviour by exchanging strategic information (price-information) has been going on between the chain stores that are under suspicion in this case, says director Magnus Gabrielsen.
The dawn raid has been approved by the court, which allows the authority to seize relevant material.
– When the inspection is complete, we will examine and analyse the seized material, says Gabrielsen.
The authority does not have further information at this point of the investigation. For general process information, please call the press contact.
